My Story

Dr. Chuck Lockwood, PT, DPT

Hello! Thanks for checking out Mobile Physio!

My name is Dr. Chuck, owner of Mobile Physio and Doctor of Physical Therapy. I know you mostly just want to know that I’m credible so here is a quick summary of my PT career:

**huge shoutout to everyone at WellSpan for shaping my career and who I am today as a therapist

Want to know more? Ok – so I’m a physical therapist based in Mt. Lebanon, just south of Pittsburgh. I moved here in January 2024 from my hometown of York, PA—but in many ways, it felt like coming back to a second home. I went to Duquesne and had been missing Pittsburgh ever since.

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy camping, hunting, cooking, lifting weights, and running. I’m big on getting outside, sleeping well, eating whole foods, staying active, and spending time with good people. My family’s still in York—my younger brother Brad, my parents, and my grandmother—and I visit when I can.

I started Mobile Physio because I wanted to do things differently. After years in traditional therapy settings, I was burned out by the nonstop appointments and constant documentation. That model made it hard to truly connect with patients or give them the full attention they deserved. So I decided to build something better.

With Mobile Physio, I bring physical therapy directly to people’s homes, where we can focus on what matters most, which is your care with no distractions. No note-typing during your session and no stressed therapists. Just meaningful, person-centered therapy.

I also wanted to create something proactive—not just therapy for recovery, but therapy to help you stay strong, mobile, and independent. That’s why I offer both rehabilitative and ongoing services for those who want to keep going at times when therapy is usually “discharged.”

Additionally, I love to be a liaison of sorts for my clients. If you need a specific piece of equipment or a connection to another provider, I’ll dig deep to find answers and make things happen.

Why do I like neuro PT?
It started in 2018, when I worked on a brain injury unit at WellSpan Surgery and Rehab Hospital. That experience shaped how I practice today. Working with people recovering from brain injuries, strokes, and other neurologic conditions pushed me beyond standard protocols—both in treatment and communication.

Neurologic care requires patience, creativity, and partnership, and that approach carries into every patient I work with. I enjoy treating a wide range of conditions and will refer to another PT when appropriate. My focus is always thoughtful, thorough care tailored to the individual.

Just wanted to give you a sense of who I am before we meet. Hope to talk soon!
